Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a family of musicians. The majority of her childhood was spent listening to traditional music, old boleros, and the traditional romantic and ranchero ballads. Ana loves tangos, operas and other theatrical performances. Her mother taught her to sing. However, she began more intensive singing lessons through Flavio Belcerra at 16 when he was a renowned Mexican opera tenor. In Guadalajara she studied at the School of Music of University of Guadalajara before moving on to Toluca at Toluca at the School of Sacred Music. Her early professional career was spent performing with various opera choruses, chamber groups and chamber groups in Guadalajara. After moving into America, United States, she performed as a member of the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Then in 2002 she moved to southern California. She has performed solo Latin American music for private functions and as a member Ensemble XXI in Redlands. In addition to being an active performer as well as an instructor the passion for arts and music keeps her involved in a range of projects. Ana has also been a former part of the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana feels privileged to have the opportunity to bring to others her passion for the tradition of Latin American music. She hopes this can inspire younger generations to keep the tradition alive.
